Road Battle

A Road Battle is a common combat encounter in Darkest Dungeon II, typically occurring on roads marked with an icon of two crossed swords. As the Stagecoach approaches the road battle location, a barricade will appear indicating the type of enemy to be encountered. Certain enemy types (Gaunts, Pillagers, Military) appear almost exclusively in road battles and nowhere else.

Ambushes

The Collector can replace any road battle. See his page for more info.

At low light, the Shambler can also replace.

When the flame falls to 0 in Confessions mode, the party will fight Cultists. The Exemplar can spawn in later acts/regions. (The Shambler also replace these fights, right?)
