The Aegis Scale is only dropped by the Pliskin, Rattler and Adder, during the Shieldbreaker's nightmares, or during random encounters with them. These Items can be stored, and it's possible to bring it later at the provision center.
It gives 1 Block Aegis, which prevents any attack that deals damage. Thereby, the Aegis Scale can be very useful against bosses, especially when Heroes are near Death's Door.
