Revelation of the crawling chaos and the entity slumbering below has a rather curious effect on the minds of men. For most individuals these realizations irreparably twist and warp their minds, ceaselessly tormenting them until they eventually descend into insanity. However, for a few individuals, instead of madness these revelations inspire fanatical devotion. These zealots have flocked to the Estate to worship the nascent god and have completely given themselves over to it in mind, body and soul. They are ready, willing and eager to lay down their lives to protect it and those who worship it as well.

Behavior

This enemy can be encountered on the first 2 expeditions in the Darkest Dungeon.

With their high speed, Rapturous Cultists are likely to act first during a turn, using their Flesh Wall ability to guard one of their damage dealing allies from your attacks. More rarely, or if their allies have already been guarded or are injured, they will use their Flesh to Flesh ability and undo most, if not all, of the damage your heroes have done. These two abilities make them a great nuisance and can make a battles last much longer than they need to. Thus these enemies should be a priority target in battle. Taking them down should not pose much of a challenge as they have low HP, no dodge or protection, poor resistances, and unlike other guards in the game they don't buff their own defenses when guarding.

It should also be noted that they have absolutely no offensive capabilities. This means that if you were able to defeat the other enemies first, you could then spend some time healing and reducing stress on your party without fear of reprisal. However, after the Color of Madness release, two cultists now will summon reinforcements if you take too long to kill them.
