The Crusader is a hero in Darkest Dungeon II exclusive to The Binding Blade DLC.

The Crusader serves as a front-line support hero, bringing with him stress healing, buffs to both himself and teammates, healing, and tanking. Like many support units he can be very flexible in his roles, fitting well onto most teams provided that his moveset is adjusted to do so. Unlike many other front rank heroes however, Crusader is much less of a damage dealer than someone like Leper or Hellion, focusing much more on aiding his allies through other means and chipping in damage as is needed.

Trivia

• The Crusader is a hero returning from Darkest Dungeon.
  • Prior to his official release, the Crusader's Battered Helm appeared as a cameo in various Darkest Dungeon II media, including in the game's ending cinematic. Because of the often morbid appearance of the helmet—lying amidst a pile of skulls, or with a candle burning atop—as well as the fact that the character himself was conspicuously missing, many fans speculated the that he had died at the end of the first game and would not return for the sequel.
  • His appearance in Chapter 2 at the Shrine of Reflection resembles a pre-release design of the Crusader in Darkest Dungeon in which his face is clearly visible.
• His Signature Inn Item, the Unique Reliquary, has the same name and similar effects as a deliverable item acquired during his unlock quest.
