The Occultist is one of 14 Heroes in Darkest Dungeon II.
Occultist is a flexible hero capable of playing a variety of roles and in a variety of positions, but primarily takes on the role of an offensive support hero, capable of disrupting enemies via various debuffs, while aiding his allies with healing or setting them up for devastating damage. Occultist is equally capable of dealing great damage himself with several of his skills, boasting great damage on certain skills with above average crit rates. Occultist is not without weaknesses however, chief among them being his fragility and on occasion his instability. Many of his debuffs are very reliant on RNG, and his ability to heal can vary greatly from among the best in the game to the worst. Additionally, to access many of his strongest skills he must have Unchecked Power tokens, which while very rewarding to use require him to spend turns generating them, and can inflict Burn onto himself
