The Bounty Hunter is a Hero in Darkest Dungeon II.
Unique Attributes
The Bounty Hunter differs from other Heroes in that he cannot be selected during party creation at The Crossroads but must be hired during the run. When available for hire, his poster will appear above the fireplace at the Inn.
The player may hire the Bounty Hunter for the cost of 4; the Bounty Hunter will then replace a hero of choice from the party and will remain with the expedition until the following Inn, at which point the original hero will return. If there is only one hero left in the party, the Bounty Hunter will not replace but accompany that hero instead.
When hired, the Bounty Hunter will have two random quirks, one positive and one negative, as well as one random trinket. All of the Bounty Hunter's skills are already mastered and cannot be upgraded further. Likewise the Bounty Hunter has no relationship interactions with other party members. The Bounty Hunter only has one path, Professional, which has no effects.
The Bounty Hunter can only be hired once per run and cannot be hired at the Inn prior to The Mountain. If the player does not hire the Bounty Hunter at an Inn, his poster may reappear at a subsequent Inn. The poster's chance to appear depends on the current Confession:
- Denial: 45%
- Resentment: 40%
- Obsession: 37.5%
- Ambition: 35%
- Cowardice: 33%
Meta-Progression
Unlike other heroes, who unlock their skills by visiting the Shrine of Reflection, the Bounty Hunter's skills are unlocked by spending Candles of Hope at The Living City. In particular, his upgrades at the Living City only unlock his skills and items, and do not increase his stats or unlock new paths as they do for other heroes.
Combo Token Regeneration
The Bounty Hunter has a unique buff: whenever he uses a skill that consumes a Combo token, he has a 50% chance to reapply the token on the target.
Skills
When hired, the Bounty Hunter will always start with Collect Bounty, Marked For Death, Come Hither, Caltrops, and Flashbang equipped. Unlike other Heroes, who unlock skills through the Shrine of Reflection, the Bounty Hunter's other skills are unlocked by spending Candles of Hope in The Living City, after which they are permanently unlocked and available for subsequent playthroughs.

Unique Trinkets
🔸Each Hero has their own 3 unique Trinkets, exclusive only to them. All unique Trinkets for Heroes have Indelible rarity. The Bounty Hunters Trinkets cannot be found as loot or purchased like other Hero Trinkets. His Trinkets are found already equipped to him when hired, assuming the trinket is unlocked at the Altar of Hope. It is not a guarantee he will spawn with one of his own Trinkets, he can spawn in with any unlocked Trinket the player has.
