The Altar is an enemy in Darkest Dungeon II encountered in all Regions at Oblivion's Rampart and Oblivion's Ingress.

Description

The Altar functions as a back-rank support unit that provides its allies with strong Buff buffs and heals. Many of the Altar's skills change based on the current Confession. Notably, the Altar, while alive, always provides its allies with a confession-specific buff.

Strategy

When fighting Cultists, it is highly advised to kill the Altar as soon as possible: some of the Altar's buffs can be highly disruptive, like party-wide Stealth Stealth or Taunt Taunt.

Altars can somewhat annoying defensively, as they always spawn in the back ranks and can generate Block Block tokens or use other defensive abilities to redirect damage. Thankfully, they have fairly low HP HP, Blight RES, and Burn RES.
